Welcome to the first annual SpARC Dance Festival!
When I started my dance company, ArcTangent Dance, it quickly became my dream to host a performance in my hometown of San José. This city is known for its tech and innovation, which are incredible in their own right, but I’ve always believed that the artists here add a unique vibrancy that deserves just as much recognition.
For years, I’ve envisioned a festival that not only showcases the immense talent in our community but also creates a space where artists and audiences can connect and celebrate the creative spirit of San José. Today, you witness that dream come to life.
I want to thank my husband for his belief in my dream and encouraging me to stay focused on my “why.” Thank you to my mom for nurturing my love of the arts and for being my biggest cheerleader. My sincerest gratitude to the talented guest performers this evening. All of you are part of the rich tapestry that is our dance community,
Last, a big thank you to all of you - the audience. Your presence in this beautiful theater is what makes this possible. I speak for myself and the other performers that your support of our art form is deeply felt and appreciated.
Let’s celebrate the artistry that makes our city so vibrant and alive. Enjoy the performance!
With gratitude,
