Heather Shaw

Company Dancer

Heather grew up in Santa Cruz County, CA and received her early training at Santa Cruz Ballet Theater. Heather was also a company member of TDC of the Bay Area, where she performed pieces set by esteemed choreographers such as Mark Foehringer, Heather Cooper, and Jason Parsons. After graduating high school at 15 years old and gaining an AA degree in Music, Heather went on to receive her BA in Philosophy (with a Theater/Dance minor) from UC Berkeley at age 20. Heather then moved to LA where she danced professionally with both MKM Bollystars and Daurden Contemporary Dance Theater. She also lived in Israel for several months, participating in the Vertigo International Dance Program. 

As an actress, Heather has appeared in several films, commercials, voiceovers, and theater performances. She completed the two year training program at The Meisner Technique Studio in San Francisco under Sanford Meisner’s last teaching protege, Jim Jarrett. Heather’s credits are extensive and you can learn more at her website: Heather is passionate about sharing her love of dance and movement. She has taught Barre and group fitness classes for prestigious gyms and studios such as Equinox, Plus One, ElliptiFit, Pure Barre and Art of Pilates. 

Heather currently works as the Performing Arts Manager at the Oshman Family JCC in Palo Alto, where she curates world-class arts experiences for a broad audience. Additionally, Heather serves as the Co-Curator for TEDxPaloAlto, an independently organized TED event. In her spare time, Heather loves choreography, hiking, yoga, reading, and going on adventure backpacking trips around the world.
